Prof Gopalkrishna
M A (Hist) Shivaji University, Kolhapur

Prof Gopalkrishna has been working in the department since 1980 and has 29 years of teaching experience. He teaches Indian History and History of Modern Europe to the BA degree students. He has participated in a number of national, state, and university level seminars in addition to presenting papers. Some of his articles have been published in vernacular history magazine ‘Ithihasa Darshana’. His research interest is in ‘Veerashivism in Tulunadu’. Presently, he is engaged in research study for Ph.D. on “Tulunadinalli Keladi Arasara Arthika Mattu Samsratika Anusheelana” under Hampi University. In the past, he worked as NSS Officer for nine continuous years, during which period the college unit was secured Best State NSS Unit award. He has undergone NSS training in Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. He is the Director of ‘MANAVIKA’- an association of humanities and also is in charge of the college Human Rights Cell. He is curator College Museum that has a collection of artefacts of the local Tuluva Culture.

He is a life member of Karnataka Ithihasa Academy, Bangalore and ‘MANUSHA’ –Mangalore University History Teachers’ Association. During the year 2008-09, he has been Chairman, Mangalore University Board of Examiners (History). He serves as resource person at Prathvi Institute of Management Education, Udupi in coaching IAS aspirants.
