Prof. Rajan V. N.

Prof. Rajan V. N. is the Principal of the college since April 1, 2013. He had his masters in commerce from Mangalore University with Banking and International Finance as specialization in 1984 and M.Phil from Sri Venkateshwara University, Thirupathi in 2009. He has 29 years of teaching experience at Sacred Heart College, Madanthyar and (as NAAC coordinator) he is instrumental in securing B++ grade in first accreditation and A grade in second accreditation (as the coordinator of teaching learning and Evaluation criteria)

Research Experience:

Worked as co-investigator in the UGC sponsored Minor Research Project on the topic "Grass root level life and living of women beedi workers: A study of Machina and Madanthyar Grama panchayat Area". Conducted a research on the topic "The impact of RUSEMP Pakshikere on Technical entrepreneurship" and presented the dissertation in part fulfillment of the award of M.Phil Degree to Sri. Venkateshwara University, Thirupati. Enrolled as a research scholar of Ph.D studies at Dravidian University Kuppam on the subject "Issues and Challenges of Rural Entrepreneurship: A study of Micro enterprises in Dakshina Kannada District of Karnataka State". The work is in progress. Another UGC sponsored Minor Research Project on the topic "A study of rural entrepreneurship in Belthangady taluk and the work is in the final stages.


Participated in 2 international, 19 national, 13 state level and 26 university level seminars and conferences. Presented research paper in 1 international and 9 national seminar and some of these papers are published with ISBN and ISSN numbers. Organized a national seminar on commerce and management and edited a conference publication with 48 research papers. Under his guidance the undergraduate and postgraduate students presented research papers at national conference and secured first prizes under both the categories.

Community services:

As a Jaycee Zone trainer conducted more than 100 trainings on personality development to the youths and students, as a resource person of CAP Cell, Diocese of Mangalore and Vimukti NGO Belthangady conducted trainings on Higher education and career opportunities in various churches and institutions. He is the Parish council member of Sacred Heart Church and CAP nodal officer of Belthangady Varado.
